New to Torah

Welcome! You may not realize it yet, but today very well could be one of the most blessed days of your entire life! I remember when I first started to discover that the things I was taught growing up in the modern church didn't line up with what I was reading in scripture. It was a little scary, but exciting at the same time! I was thinking to myself, "Am I crazy!" If you have arrived here it's not because you are crazy it's because you are looking for something that is missing in your faith! It's called the entire Truth! It's been a long time since our Father established The Faith at creation and a long time since he inspired the Scriptures, but through time we have managed to mangle everything up! We have added to, taken away, and in general done what we've wanted with our Father's word since the beginning! We've taken his name out of scripture, thrown away his instructions, ignored his Sabbaths, and worshipped in pagan festivals! Wow we are a mess! Thankfully we have a loving Father that chases us pleading with us to Teshuva (Return) to him! He has paved a way through Y'shua (Jesus) that we can return once again to an eternal relationship with him! He simply asks for us to Love him! That's where you start! If we Love him we serve him!

Keep these three things in mind as you walk forward in The Way;
First: Forgive! Forgive yourself for not seeing it. Forgive others for not teaching it.
Second: Implement! As you learn what our Father desires, do it the best you can. That's what he desires! Your change of heart and focus! Take your time and test everything against the word and take baby steps.
Third: Don't look down upon others that haven't seen what you have. Live the life of a disciple and they will see the Father through you and will desire to serve the Father, also. When the time is right and they have the eyes to see and ears to hear they will recognize you as a disciple and will approach you with questions.

So, where do you begin? Well, you've already started! You're looking for truth!
Start where the early gentiles started when they came into The Faith:
In Acts 15 the Jerusalem council decides this in regards to the new Gentile believers:
John says:19 Therefore my judgment is that we do not trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to Yahweh, 20 but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who proclaim him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.

So the Gentiles were already saved by grace through their faith in Y'shua. Then they were being asked to turn from their pagan practices; worshipping idols, temple prostitution, eating strangled sacrifices, and drinking blood, etc... Then they would shema (hear and obey) the rest of the Torah as they learned it every Sabbath.

So, to simplify:
1)Keep walking forward through faith in our messiah Y'shua
2)Repent and walk out The Faith as best you can based on what you already know
3)Attend Sabbath service with other set-apart people, learn more from Yahweh's instructions, and live them out as best you can.
   Remember that your obedience is done out of love, because you are saved, not because you are trying to earn salvation.
