Shalom!

The command to "be holy" is found in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the Brit Chadasha.  The Hebrew Scriptures identify "holiness" with "holy" behavior, otherwise known as obedience to the commandments.  Did Yeshua do away with the Torah and thus, "holy" behavior?  How then can one become "holy" today?  Kedoshim 2019 takes a look at how we can conform our behavior to the likeness of the Holy One of Israel.

Last night, at 8:00 p.m. in Israel, sirens sounded nation wide and Israelis halted and stood silently with heads bowed for a solemn moment of memory for soldiers killed in Israeli wars and those killed by terrorism.  Restaurants and places of entertainment were closed and TV and radio broadcasted stories of wars and those who valiantly died.  Watch a short video from Latrun - Israel Remembers.  An explanation of how the national day came into being - Memorial Day for the Fallen.

There are many powerful testimonies of Israeli battles.  One known by all Israeli school children is the convoy of 35.  Israel was already fighting the Arabs in extremely outnumbered battles before the British left Palestine in May of 1948.  Gush Etzion was one of those places of extreme fighting.  Catch up on their history here - Under Siege.
