Shalom!

One of my favorite Jewish teachers of the Torah is Rabbi David Fohrman. He has many Torah videos on www.alephbeta.org, but this week I "happened" on a longer audio presentation he had done for a different audience. The subject matter further expanded on a teaching Rabbi Fohrman had previously posted on his website concerning this verse on the "law of the mother bird":

Devarim/Deuteronomy 22:6 " If a bird's nest happens to be before you along the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, with the mother sitting on the young or on the eggs, you shall not take the mother with the young; 7 "you shall surely let the mother go, and take the young for yourself, that it may be well with you and that you may prolong your days.

I've included as an attachment a summarized, edited transcript of Rabbi Fohrman's audio teaching. The original audio is rather long and intended for an audience that at least is "fairly" familiar with Hebrew. I've tried to simplify it best I can so all can understand his point. At the end of Rabbi Fohrman's teaching, I made a few comments that point to the love of Yeshua and how He shelters us under the shadow of His wings, just like the mother bird. Click Link Below

Now I cannot end without mentioning the current crisis in our country. The disastrous hurricane/tropical storm that dropped record breaking rainfall in Texas has killed many and left thousands homeless. It has been said that everyone who lives in this area is either "a rescuer or one being rescued." There are so many people risking their lives to save others. This is a display of the love of Yeshua. I don't know whether these people are believers or not, but what I do notice is that all are attracted to this kind of love that lays down his life for another.

1 John 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.

Please pray for those in harms way and for the love of Yeshua to be visible through the arms of those helping.

Shabbat Shalom!
